The Federal Government has said that the teaching of science subjects and mathematics in indigenous languages in primary and secondary schools across the country would commence soon. Director-General of the National Centre for Technology Management, Prof. Okechukwu Ukwuoma, stated this during a retreat organised for researchers in Akure, capital of Ondo State.

Ukwuoma, who is a member of a committee set up to supervise the project, also disclosed that experts were contracted to translate science and mathematics terminologies to the various indigenous languages spoken in the country.

Eagle police have arrested one Babajide Ayowole Ogunnubi, 38, on felony racketeering and theft charges for his part in a classified ad scam involving the local newspaper and a Walmart in Beaumont, Texas.

Ogunnubi allegedly convinced Linda Lazard Franks, 56, of Beaumont, to sign for money orders and other financial transactions and then give the money to him. Franks told Eagle police that Ogunnubi told her that he had lots of friends in the Houston and Beaumont areas who would send money to him.

Arik speaks on emergency landing in Accra


An Arik flight from Lagos to Accra, Ghana, made an emergency landing on Tuesday when the pilot detected a smoke in the cabin, the airline said in a statement on Thurday.
