My husband beat me up for voting in 2014 poll in Ekiti – Woman tells court


A housewife, Folasade Fatunla, on Thursday told an Ado-Ekiti Customary Court that her husband, Gbenga, beat and stabbed her after she went to cast her vote in the 2014 Ekiti governorship election.

Folashade, 32, who made this known when she testified in her divorce petition, said that her husband stabbed her in the hand with a broken bottle.

Goldman Says Oil to Surpass $80 With Market Likely Balanced


Goldman Sachs Group Inc. hiked its short-term crude oil price forecast by as much as 33 percent, saying the market is now likely balanced. 

The bank now estimates Brent will reach $75 a barrel over the next three months and will climb to $82.50 within six months, analysts including Damien Courvalin wrote in an emailed report. Their previous estimate for both time periods was $62 a barrel.

Twenty eight Russian athletes could still take part in this month’s Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, after the Court of Arbitration for Sport today lifted life bans imposed on them for alleged doping at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics.

Sport’s top court ruled there was “insufficient” evidence that the 28 athletes out of the 43 that sought the court’s help, had benefited from a system of state-sponsored doping at the last Winter Games, hosted by Russia in Sochi.
