My husband beat me up for voting in 2014 poll in Ekiti – Woman tells court

A housewife, Folasade Fatunla, on Thursday told an Ado-Ekiti Customary Court that her husband, Gbenga, beat and stabbed her after she went to cast her vote in the 2014 Ekiti governorship election.

Folashade, 32, who made this known when she testified in her divorce petition, said that her husband stabbed her in the hand with a broken bottle.

Unknown gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen on Wednesday night killed nine persons in a rural community in Kaduna.

?Many feared dead as two suicide bombers attack Borno IDP camp

Many Internally displaced persons are feared dead after two suicide bombers attacked the IDP camp in Daori, Borno state today January 31st. Confirming the attacks, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in a statement released today, said only the two suicide bombers were killed duiring the attack.

Five suspected armed, who robbed an old woman of $800, 400 Qatari Riyald, N45,000, America Visa card, gold trinkets valued at N110,000 and an Hawaii phone, have been arrested.

The suspected attacked and robbed a 58-year-old woman of her handbag containing foreign and local currencies as well as other personal effects on New Year’s Eve around 9pm.
