Court Awards N10m Damages Over Death Of Pregnant Woman


Delta State High Court has awarded N10 million in damages against the Delta State Commissioner of Justice and Attorney General, the Hospitals Management Board (HMB), and two others over the death of a pregnant woman in November 2012.

The court ruled that the pregnant woman, Elo Joseph, died due to medical negligence.

According to Sahara Reporters, the defendants charged are the Delta State Hospital Management Board, Delta State Attorney General Peter Mrakpor, Dr. Nwabua, and Dr. Mike Ozoemena.

Sen. Arise kidnapped, police denies claim


Sen. Ayo Arise, a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was kidnapped on Sunday, along Okene-Lokoja road, News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.

NAN reports that the senator was abducted along with his Personal Assistant and driver while returning to Abuja.

Imo youths kill, burn head teacher accused of sorcery


A serving head teacher, Mr. Cosmas Nwaiwu, has been reportedly killed by irate youths from Nneoche Umuoma Nzerem in Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State.

Nwaiwu, 57, who was said to have been killed on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 was the Head Teacher of Obolo Primary School, Ehime Mbano.

Ford sues John Cena for selling rare GT less than a month after buying it


Ford is suing American  wrestler John Cena for selling his Ford GT sports-car too early .The avid car collector bought the GT in September for $463 376 but resold it shortly afterwards despite signing a purchase agreement to use it for at least two years .

Ford which built only 1000 units of the car model,hand-picked its buyers ,choosing Cena out of about 7000 applicants to buy the car.

The Osun State Police Command has arrested a 25-year-old undergraduate of the Adekunle Ajasin University in Ondo, Joseph Mark, has been arrested for beheading his mother, Mrs. Christianah Mark.

Confirming the incident, the state police Public Relations officer, Folashade Odoro, said that the incident happened at No 25, Zone 5, Ajetomobi Street, Eko-Ende Road, Ikirun, Osun, on Sunday December 3rd.

“The actor was admitted to the Kokilaben hospital in Mumbai.

“He was administered several rounds of dialysis at the hospital and today evening he breathed his last,” a family member told media.

According to a BBC report, the bronze statue was chopped off just above the ankles, with the main "body" left lying on the pavement.

Court sentences 2 men 32 months for stealing cell phone


A Masaka Upper Area Court in Nasarawa State on Monday, sentenced two men to 16 months imprisonment each for stealing cell phone.

The convicts are Michael Onazi, 26 and Joseph Ali, 28.

The convicts, who live in Angwan Police area, Masaka, had pleaded guilty to a two-count charge of conspiracy and theft, but begged the Judge for mercy.

Gucci confirms tax evasion probe


Italian fashion giant Gucci on Monday said police raided its offices over suspected tax evasion, confirming a report in the Italian press.

The Milan public prosecutor suspects the fashion house of declaring several years worth of Italian sales in Switzerland, thereby saving around 1.3 billion euros ($1.5 billion) in domestic tax, La Stampa daily said.

25-year-old undergraduate arrested for beheading mother


A 25-year-old undergraduate of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Joseph Mark, has been arrested by the Osun State police command for allegedly beheading his mother on Sunday.

The Public Relations Officer of the command, DSP Folashade Odoro, confirming the incident told newsmen in Osogbo that the incident happened at about 6:30 am, at No 25, Zone 5, Ajetomobi Street, Eko-Ende Road, Ikirun, Osun.

Nigerian man stabbed to death, following an argument over house rent in S. Africa.


A 26-year-old Nigerian, Chidiebere Nwaojiekwu, from Unubi, Anambra state, was on the 1st of December, 2017, stabbed to death at Galeshewe, Kimberly town in Northern Cape, according to journalist Peter Agba Kalu.

The murder was reportedly committed by his landlord, after an argument about rent degenerated into a fight. The landlord was said to have called his boys and they started stabbing the deceased. .
