Maina challenges EFCC to investigate him openly, claims FG owes him N159bn


The former Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Pension Returns, Abdurasheed Maina through his lawyer, Sani Katu, has claimed that the federal government is owing him over N159 billion, as against the N2.1 billion he is being accused of siphoning while in office.

The embattled ex-PRTT boss challenged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to meet at an open panel of investigation where he would spew out all the unknowns to Nigerians.

Five police officers detained for allegedly killing kidnap suspects


The police in Cross River have confirmed that five of its officers, including a deputy superintendent of police, have been detained over the alleged extra-judicial killing of suspected kidnappers in the state.

Some residents of Isheri community in Lagos State have gone on rampage at the Divisional Police Station after the corpse of a man was recovered from a river.  The corpse of a 37-year-old tricycle rider identified as Adama Onikoyi which was recovered from a river on Saturday in a Lagos community, led some residents of Isheri went on rampage at the Isheri Divisional Police Station.

According to a reporters, a team of policemen from the station had reportedly raided the neighbourhood around 10pm on Thursday during which they chased the father of four into the river, where he drowned.
