The judge, Mr. Yahaya Mohammed, convicted Abubakar, as he pleaded guilty to the three counts leveled against him.

Three unidentified individuals have stepped out to lay claim to the controversial N860 million benefit meant for the whistleblower that led the EFCC to the N13 billion found in an apartment in Ikoyi, Lagos in April this year.

Justice Mohammed Idris of the Lagos Division of the Federal High Court on Tuesday refused an application by Waripamo-Owei Dudafa, a former aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, to travel overseas for medical treatment.

A 51-year-old Nigerian woman, Jadesola Agbalade forwarded a child pornography clip which showed a child being raped, a Dublin court has heard.

She pleaded guilty to one count of knowingly distributing child pornography on July 20, 2016. Garda Enda Ledwith told Karl Finnegan BL, prosecuting, that he arrested a man in Dublin Airport in July 2017 in relation to credit card fraud.

A Federal Capital Territory High Court sitting in Jabi on Monday sentenced two civil servants — Mohammed Audu and Yusuf Ayodeji — to 105-year imprisonment, for fraudulent activities.

The convicts, who were procurement officers in the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation, were arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in July 2016.

Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Mr Abiodun Odude, says his men were not responsible for shooting of two female members of staff of the Institute of Agricultural Research and Training (IAR&T), Ibadan.

Odude made the clarification in a telephone interview with newsmen in Ibadan.

The police chief spoke on the reports that policemen drafted to quell students’ protest at the Federal College of Agriculture (FCA), Apata, Ibadan, shot two workers of the institute.
