US Based Nigerian Man Recounts How He Was Saved From Being Arrested For Drug Possession

A US based Nigerian man identified as Wisdom Madukwe, has shared an interesting story of how he was saved from being arrested for drug possession.

The traditional ruler of Owode-Egba in Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State, Oba Kolawole Sowemimo, has been attacked by armed gang and robbed of his valuables.

The monarch was ambushed by a three-man robbery gang around 8:45p.m. on Sunday while returning from Abeokuta, the state capital. He was said to have run into the gang at a spot near the Daywaterman College on the Abeokuta-Siun road.

According to a Metro UK report, an American woman has revealed that her life was saved by her pink iPhone which stopped a bullet during the Las Vegas massacre on Sunday night.

She showed her phone to a taxi driver who drove her home after the shooting and took the picture above of the damaged device.

An Ikeja Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Wednesday remanded a 50-year-old applicant, Rotimi Ajakaye, at Kirikiri Prisons after he pleaded guilty to charges of extortion and impersonating a policeman.

Earlier, Police Prosecutor Clement Okuoimose told the court that the accused, who resides in Agege area of Lagos, committed the offence on Sept. 25 at Ayobo, Lagos.

An estimated three billion Yahoo accounts were compromised during a data breach in 2013, the company said on Wednesday.

The controversial dismissal of 38 officers of the Nigerian Army is now a subject of Senate investigation, after one of the affected officers, Abdulfatai Mohammed, petitioned the legislature.

The US is expelling 15 officials from the Cuban embassy in Washington because the government in Havana failed to protect US diplomats who have suffered mysterious “attacks” at their own embassy in Cuba, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said.

The State Department delivered a diplomatic note Tuesday to the Cuban embassy in Washington ordering 15 listed Cubans to leave the United States within seven days.

The Lagos state police have arrested some masquerades for robbing and exhorting residents at the Elere area of Agege, Lagos.

A Florida man has fatally shot his son while cleaning a gun, according to the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. The man's 22-year-old Joshua Alan Jordan died Saturday.

The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office says Joshua's father, John Jordan, was cleaning his .45-caliber handgun at a Port Charlotte home after returning from a local gun range in Punta Gorda. The firearm discharged and struck Jordan.

Lagos Uber Drivers Arrested By Police For Robbing Female Customers At Night

Two Uber drivers, Fosta Rufus, 30, and Franklin Jogbodo, have been arrested by Lagos state police, for robbing their female customers of their valuables at gunpoint.

According to the Special Anti Robbery squad boss, Mohammed Sanusi, picked up their targets around Lekki, Ajah and Victoria Island areas of Lagos.

The Federal Ministry of Information under the supervision of Alhaji Lai Mohammed has been given a one-week notice to vacate its Abia State Division office for its alleged failure to pay rent for two years.

The landlord of the property, through his lawyer, Adizua Okoroafor, served a quit notice on the ministry.

The Lagos State police command has arrested two Uber drivers who specialised in robbing women of their valuables at gunpoint.

The drivers, Fosta Rufus, 30, and Franklin Jogbodo, according to the Special Anti Robbery squad boss, Mohammed Sanusi, picked up their targets around Lekki, Ajah and Victoria Island areas of Lagos.

This is the second of such arrest of Uber drivers in Lagos. It was gathered that the suspects were accused of robbing their victims of valuables such as jewelry, expensive phones and cash, and their victims are mainly ladies who go out at night.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has initiated fresh moves to ensure nine Dubai properties worth about N1.6bn, traced to a former Managing Director of the Petroleum Products Marketing Company, Mr. Haruna Momoh is forfeited to the federal government of Nigeria.
