The Niger State Police command yesterday arrested a fake Medical Doctor, Umaru Usman, who allegedly indulged in sucking sperm of patients in Minna.
The 50-year-old Usman, was apprehended at the Out Patient Department of the Minna General Hospital after parading himself as a medical doctor for over two years without being detected.

A suspect, identified as Oku Ekanem, has been apprehended in Bayelsa State for alleged defilement of 15-month-old baby.

The incident, which caused outrage among residents of Yenagoa, the state capital, occurred in Swali area of the metropolis.

The 50-year-old Ekanem, said to be an indigene of ‎Akwa Ibom State, was arrested by men of the state’s security outfit, codenamed Operation Doo Akpo.

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, NAPTIP, said it has arrested a 45-year-old woman, Rhoda Omorogie, alias Mama Bobo, for her alleged involvement in the trafficking of young girls from Benin to Europe.


The NAPTIP Head of Press and Public Relations, Josiah Emerole, said in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja that the operatives of the agency in Benin Zonal Command arrested the suspect in an early morning operation on Tuesday.

The Vatican has announced that it is donating about $515,000 towards aid projects in South Sudan, AFP news agency reports.
 
The move comes after Pope Francis dropped plans to visit South Sudan because of security fears in a country hit by myriad conflicts since it gained independence from Sudan in 2011.

Late rapper, Prodigy fell ill on Saturday night, because during the after-party he was in such bad shape he was wheeled out on a stretcher and taken to the hospital where he later died.

He was supposed to perform, but at around 1:30am Sunday he told people he was feeling bad and those around him were so concerned they put him on the gurney.

Police discover 3 headless bodies in the home of 80-yr-old


Police in Osun State have arrested an 80-year-old man, Lamidi Abioye, after decomposing headless bodies were found in three shallow graves in his compound in Gbongan town, Ayedaade area of the state.

The discovery was reportedly made on Monday, at about 5:00p.m., after a resident of Idi-Ifa area of Gbongan town reported at Gbongan police station that an offensive odour was perceived from the suspect’s compound.

FIFA have cleared Manchester United but opened disciplinary proceedings against Juventus over Paul Pogba’s world record transfer, football’s governing body announced on Wednesday.
The France midfielder returned to United in a deal worth more than $111 million, 105.2 million euros) in August 2016 from the Italian giants.

In May FIFA began an inquiry into the move, requesting information about the headline transfer from United.

He also said his wife was not submissive and could no longer live with her.

The Nigeria Police, Shagamu Division of the Ogun State Command, yesterday rescued a 13-year-old teenager, who was chained by his father for stealing his N2,000.
The teenager was found on the bare floor, naked, with his hands and legs bound.
A resident, Modupe Okeshola, said that it was not the first time the teenager would be dehumanised by his father.

The suspects, Musa Muktari with force number 394120 GDI and Shuaibu Suleman, 10627 GDII, arrested a motorist with an undisclosed identity at Wuse Market on May 29, accusing him of jumping traffic light.

President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote has estimated that the country is losing about N140 billion weekly to traffic gridlocks on Apapa-Oshodi Expressway, Lagos, the access road to Nigeria’s main sea ports.

Dangote who spoke to journalists in Lagos, yesterday, said: “The economy loses more than N20 billion daily and N140 billion weekly. It affects businesses across the country. All our operations in the hinterland in Ilorin, in Kano are operating at 40 per cent maximum capacity.”

Nigeria: Mosquitoes Develop Resistance To Insecticides


A new study conducted by scientists at the Nigeria Institute of Medical Research, Yaba, Lagos, has revealed that mosquitoes in 18 states have developed resistance to insecticide nets.

The outcome of the study,  which was presented  in NIMR on Tuesday, identified mosquito resistance to insecticides as a major threat to the eradication of malaria in Nigeria  by 2030.

Another batch of One Hundred and Seventy-five (175) Nigerians voluntarily returned from Libya on Tuesday aboard a chartered Nouvelair aircraft with registration number TS-INA.

Police arrest mum for abandoning her 4 month old baby in hot car


A mother has been arrested after police in US were forced to smash their way into a hot car to rescue her four-month-old baby boy who had been left unattended for hours.

Following her arrest, Kelly Decorrevont, 35"didn't seem  very remorseful."The affidavit says the four-month-old was left alone in the car Monday afternoon for over two and a half hours without food or water.

Boko Haram ambushes police convoy, kill two officers, ’57 missing’


At least 57 policemen fled while two were killed when suspected Boko Haram insurgents ambushed their convoy in the Damboa area of Borno state, on Tuesday.
An officer who witnessed the attack said his colleagues who took cover were yet to be found.
He said men from men of the State Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) deployed to rescue the officers have not been able to rescue all of them.
