‘I Could Not Attend University Because Of N15,000’ – BBNaija’s Bisola


Bisola Aiyeola in an interview with NAIJ spoke about life after the show, how she wants to keep working to maintain her fame, her life before BBNaija and why she could not attend university.

An 11-year-old girl would have died as a result of her mother’s exorcism had a stranger not intervened, according to police in California. Kimberly Felder,45, was arrested, with police claiming she was attempting to ‘cleanse’ her daughter.
 A crowd of ten to 12 people witnessed the attack with one local resident even stepping in to save the child.

43-Year Old Rapes 9-Year Old In Lagos


A 43-year-old, Chukwuemeka Ejike, was on Monday docked in an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly defiling a 9-year-old girl.

The accused, who gave no fixed address, is facing trial on a charge of defilement.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The French Catholic woman went to cast her vote in the first round of the country's legislative elections,in the town of Baugé on Sunday. Identified as sister Fabienne from Les Filles du cœur de Marie, she was featured on the Christian Aleteia website.

One of the judges recently recalled from suspension by the National Judicial Council will be charged this week with offences bordering on receiving gratification from lawyers, the Special Assistant to the President on Prosecution, Mr. Okoi Obono-Obla, has said.

In a telephone interview with The PUNCH on Sunday, Obono-Obla alleged that the judge was found to have received gratification worth N90m from 100 lawyers.

Erdogan warns Turkey opposition chief over ‘justice march’


Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Saturday warned the leader of the main opposition party against making a planned protest march from Ankara to Istanbul, telling him “don’t be surprised” if legal proceedings were opened.
Republican People’s Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu called the march after former journalist turned CHP lawmaker Enis Berberoglu was sentenced to 25 years in jail on Wednesday for leaking classified information to a newspaper.

Woman gives birth on flight, baby gets free travel for life


An Indian woman gave birth to a baby boy on an international commercial flight as it flew at 35,000 feet, the airline said on Monday.

The unnamed woman, in her 20s, went into premature labour on Sunday’s Jet Airways flight between Damman in Saudi Arabia and Kochi in the southern Indian state of Kerala.

“The guest delivered a baby boy at 35,000 feet,” Jet Airways said in a statement, adding that a paramedic on board and airline staff helped with the delivery.

Tim Hague, UFC fighter turned boxer, dies at 33, two days after he was knocked out in a boxing match


This is really sad! Tim Hague, a former UFC fighter known as "The Thrashing Machine," died Sunday, just two days after he was critically injured when he was knocked out in a boxing match against former Edmonton Eskimos defensive end Adam Braidwood.

Hague's sister, Jackie Neil, made the announcement of his death in a family statement.

Police Arrest Notorious Ibadan Car Thieves


The Oyo State Police Command has recovered eight vehicles from a robbery syndicate. The arrested suspects were Badejo Festus, aka Otinan, 22; Owaidiegwu Felix; and Nasiru Olanihun, 21.

Festus was released from Agodi prison in May. The state Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Odude, while parading the suspects at the state police headquarters in Ibadan, said their arrest was made possible after a receiver of one of the stolen vehicles was arrested in Sango area of Ibadan on June 8.

Court Remands Couple, Others For Alleged N55.8m Fraud


A Benin High Court has ordered that a former bank manager, Mrs. Florence Odior; her husband, Sunday Odior, and two others be remanded in prison custody for allegedly defrauding a customer of the sum of N55,840,000.

The accused persons were on June 8, 2017 arraigned before a High Court in Benin, Edo State, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on 19 counts bothering on fraud, stealing, conspiracy and converting the said amount to personal use.
