A Zimbabwean man has been arrested for attempting to sell his eight-year-old daughter to a businessman for rituals.
Tapiwa Vhutani (27) of Kumboedza Farm in Kadoma was arrested after he continuously pestered businessman Obert Juru – son to Bishop Ollah Juru – that he was selling his daughter for $12 000.

Army arrest Boko Haram Militant, Aliyu Ahmed

The Nigerian Army on Saturday confirmed the arrest of a suspected Boko Haram militant, Aliyu Ahmed, alias “Aliko.” The army spokesman, Brig.-Gen. Sani Usman, said in a statement that “Aliko” was arrested on Friday by troops of 33 Brigade following a tip off in Yuga village, Toro local government area of Bauchi State, where he has been hiding.

A 22-year-old woman was fatally stabbed during a fight in the French Quarter early Thursday, and investigators later obtained a warrant to arrest her cousin in the slaying.

Brittany Seymour was stabbed to death during a loud argument that began in the 200 block of Decatur Street about 1:15 a.m. and then escalated into a fight in the 300 block. Onlookers had broken up the scuffle when Seymour realized she had been cut, authorities said.

A Nigerian identified as Taiwo Quadri allegedly defrauded a Canada-based company, Allan Dodds, of over $20,906, an Economic and Financial Crimes Commission witness, told an Ikeja Division of the Lagos State High Court on Friday.

Mr. Quadri allegedly conspired to defraud the company alongside one Oladeji Ramoni and Modupe Adekunle, both of who are still at large.

FG To Enforce N50,000 Fine For Public Smoking

In a communiqué, the ministry said according to Section 9 of the Nigeria Tobacco Control Act 2015, once convicted, offenders are liable to a fine of at least N50, 000 and/or six months’ imprisonment.

The Frenchman who killed his wife in a horrific murder suicide by tying her to rail tracks before leaping in front of a 200mph express train did so on the woman's 34th birthday.  Émilie Hallouin and Guillaume Grémy died in Beauvilliers, northern France.

Police said that 34-year-old Hallouin's wrists and ankles had been bound to the tracks with strong polythene tape and her body had been severed into pieces by the train. Grémy, 37 had not been tied to the tracks, but his body was found scattered along several hundred yards of track, officials said.

Police In Gun Duel With Armed Robbers, Kill One, Arrest Woman

The police in Imo State yesterday confronted a six man dear-devil armed robbery gang in a gun duel that lasted for over a half hour in the Orlu Local Government Area of the state.

While four out of the six hoodlums escaped, the Police officers killed one and arrested the only female criminal among the gang .

According to an eyewitness, the incident happened at the 7up depot in the Orlu town at noon.
