A Katsina State High Court sitting in Malumfashi on Wednesday sentenced a commercial bus driver, Hassan Sanusi, to seven years imprisonment without an option of a fine, for causing the death of a passenger over N20 change disagreement.
Sanusi, 35, of Shuwaki Quarters in Funtua, Katsina State, was convicted after being found guilty of the offence of culpable homicide not punishable with death, according to Section 224 of the Penal Code.

Lagos suspends approval for construction of filling stations


The Lagos State Government has suspended approval for construction of filling stations in all parts of the state till further notice. The government said it had already resolved not to grant construction permit for filling stations pending the inventory of existing ones.
The state Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Mr. Wasiu Anifowoshe, who disclosed this at the ongoing ministerial press briefing to commemorate the second year anniversary of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, also said that the government had not relented in the proposed relocation of Computer Village in Ikeja to ICT Park, Katangowa in Agbado/OkeOdo LCDA to tackle environmental degradation and meet the growing demand for housing stock deficit in the state.
