‘Prophet of Doom’ barred from using insect killer on churchgoers

A South African judge on Monday issued a banning order to prevent controversial pastor, Lethebo Rabalago from using Doom insect repellent for "religious healing".

Judge George Phatudi of the Limpopo High Court ruled that pastor Rabalago must stop spraying Doom on members of his congregation.

FIFA bans referee after influencing result of World Cup qualifier

Ghanaian referee Joseph Lamptey has been banned for life by FIFA after being found guilty of influencing the result of a World Cup qualifying match.

Lamptey incorrectly awarded a penalty during a qualifier for the 2018 World Cup between South Africa and Senegal in November last year.

South Africa won 2-1, the first of their goals from a spot-kick awarded by Lamptey for a handball that never was.

Billionaire philanthropist David Rockefeller dies at age 101

David Rockefeller was the last of his generation in a famous American family that taught its children that wealth brings great responsibility. Even as children, he and his siblings had to set aside portions of their allowances for charitable giving.

That lesson lasted throughout his life; to mark his 100th birthday in 2015, Rockefeller gave 1,000 acres of land next to a national park to the state of Maine.

Defoe hints at quitting Sunderland if they get relegated

Jermain Defoe has admitted he would be forced to leave Sunderland to safeguard his hopes of playing at next year’s World Cup if the club suffer relegation from the Premier League this season.

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates once again topped the Forbes magazine list of the world’s richest billionaires, while US President Donald Trump slipped more than 200 spots, the magazine said Monday.

Gates, whose wealth is estimated at $86 billion, led the list for the fourth straight year.

Son of the late military Head of State, Gen. Sani Abacha, Mohammed, had begun a legal battle to reclaim the $1.3 billion Oil Prospecting Licence (OPL) 245, which was allocated to Malabu Oil Gas Limited. Mohammed Abacha is a Director and the largest shareholder of Malabu Oil Gas Limited. The two other major shareholders are Amafagha Kweku and Hindu Hassan.

In a statement released on Sunday, Germany's defense minister rejected claims by President Donald Trump that her country owes NATO "vast sums of money.". Ursula von der Leyen said

The police in Bauchi State have arrested two members of a kidnap syndicate, who abducted three children from their father’s house in the Ganjuwa Local Government Area of the state.

It was gathered that the two suspects — Adamu Mohammed, 20, and 51-year-old Ahmadu Baushe were nabbed over the weekend around 6pm by police detectives attached to the state Anti-Kidnapping Unit.

Ekiti State governor Ayo Fayose has set up an investigation team in the case of a woman, allegedly beaten to a pulp by some policemen in Ado Ekiti during the weekend.

He said the investigation team will unravel what actually transpired between the woman and the police, and bring the policemen that perpetrated the act to book.

How PDP Chieftain Committed Suicide, Set Abuja Hotel Ablaze
