A tourist has died after jumping out of a Manhattan hotel room window as police tried to get inside. The unidentified 32-year-old man was clad only in his underwear as he took a plunge from the 11th floor of the TRYP by Wyndham Hotel on W. 35th Street on Friday night around 8pm, said police, according to the New York Daily News.
Hotel staff said the man checked in alone and was acting strangely. He then reportedly wouldn't let housekeeping inside of his room, and barricaded himself inside.
Staff called police and they had arrived, when he jumped out of the window and fatally landed in a construction site below.
A picture showed the man wearing nothing but blue underwear and strapped into a gurney as police rushed him to an NYU Langone ambulance.
