Kelechi Iheanacho’s Agent Slams Pep Guardiola, Hints at Striker’s Exit

The agent of Manchester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho has hit out at Pep Guardiola‘s treatment of his client and hinted that the Nigerian could soon be on his way out of the club.
Iheanacho has endured a frustrating season in Guardiola’s first year in charge, as he has been limited to only a handful of appearances.

Though he began the campaign reasonably well, Sergio Aguero’s impressive form and the arrival of Brazilian wonderkid Gabriel Jesus, mean that the 20-year-old has fallen some way down the pecking order at the Etihad.
Indeed, Iheanacho has not started a match for City since early January, and as he continues to sit on the bench and see little action, his agent, Olumide Olowu, has had plenty to say about the player’s future, as well as the Citizens’ manager.
Speaking in the Nigerian press, he said, as quoted by the ?Manchester Evening News: “Iheancho needs to leave Manchester City and he will find a better place to continue his younger career.
Forward Kelechi Iheanacho could be on his way out of #ManCity.
“Guardiola seems to have his own players that he wants to play and you can’t expect a young player with huge potentials to be wasting away on the bench.
“Kelechi had already shown his quality before Manchester City signed Gabriel Jesus, he had already proven himself.
“I’m not speaking for Iheanacho, but as someone who is involved in advising him, I don’t think he has been treated fairly by Guardiola and I think his career will be better elsewhere.
“For whatever reason, he has not been given the opportunity to continue his progress at City.”
Despite an impressive start to Guardiola’s reign, Iheanacho looks unlikely to beat his record of eight goals from last season, as he has only scored seven times in the current campaign and is unlikely to see much game-time in City’s remaining four matches.
