Chelsea to sign ‘five or six big players’ this summer – Terry

John Terry expects Premier League champions Chelsea to bring in “five or six big players” when the transfer window re-opens.
The Blues have positioned themselves back at the summit of English football, with a title parade staged at Stamford Bridge on the final day of the 2016-17 campaign.
Antonio Conte’s side have been a dominant force since tweaking their tactical approach early in the Italian’s reign, with a record-breaking 30 victories collected in a 38-game season.

They have seen key men play starring roles all over the field, but their outgoing club captain is still expecting a busy summer on the recruitment front.
Terry told Sky Sports: “With the Champions League and the number of games we’re going to play, I think we really need to strengthen in the transfer window.
“I’m sure the owner will sit down with the manager and discuss that.
“I’d be surprised if there were not at least five or six big players coming in the summer.”
Chelsea’s cause this term has been aided by a lack of European football, with their focus locked on domestic matters.
That will not be the case next season and Terry is right to suggest that greater depth will be required to compete on multiple fronts.
For now, though, the Blues are looking to wrap up the current campaign in style, with an FA Cup final date with Arsenal offering them a shot at double glory.
