Cristiano Ronaldo and Sergio Ramos asked Bayern Munich star to join Real Madrid

Cristiano Ronaldo and Sergio Ramos have asked Robert Lewandowski to join Real Madrid, according to reports in Spain.

AS claim that the influential Madrid duo ‘openly asked’ the striker at the Santiago Bernabeu following Bayern Munich’s exit from the Champions League on Tuesday evening.
The report claims that Ronaldo and Ramos told the 28-year-old that there ‘was room’ for him in their team, while the Poland international also had a brief conversation with Madrid president Florentino Perez.

Lewandowski is said to be fully aware of Madrid’s interest and would be keen on making the move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

In December, Lewandowski signed a new contract with Bayern which made him the highest-paid player in the Bundesliga on £12.5 million per season, before bonuses.
The striker missed Bayern’s first-leg defeat to Madrid but played 88 minutes with a shoulder injury at the Bernabeu as Madrid secured a 4-2 victory in extra time.
Lewandowski, who opened the scoring from the penalty spot, is said to have been one of the Bayern players who went to see referee Victor Kassai after the match after a series of controversial events during the match.

Two of Ronaldo’s three goals in the match were scoring from an offside position, while Arturo Vidal was harshly sent off for a challenge on Marco Asensio.
‘In the game today I think we could have won and played the next round but the referee made a lot of errors,’ Lewandowski said after the game.

‘I think it was impossible to play Real Madrid with 10 men.
‘It was not a red card, and for their goals it was offside for one, maybe two. Also, for my situation as well, when I was one-on-one, I was not offside either.’
