Brazilian Goalkeeper Says He's Not a Bad Guy Despite Feeding His Girlfriend To Dogs

Brazilian goalkeeper Bruno has claimed he is 'not a bad guy' despite horrific crime

The Brazilian goalkeeper who ordered the murder of his girlfriend before feeding her to his Rottweilers, has incredibly claimed he’s ‘not a bad guy’.

Bruno Fernandes de Souza was let out of jail in February on a legal technicality after spending just six years behind bars for his horrendous crime.

The goalie had former model girlfriend Eliza Samudio tortured and beaten before being strangled, chopped into pieces and fed to a pack of ¬Rottweilers… following a row over child support.

But in his first interview since leaving jail albeit temporarily while he appeals his sentence  and controversially signing for Boa Esporte, Bruno is quoted as saying in Guardian: “Dude, what happened, happened.

“I made a mistake, a serious one, but mistakes happens in life – I’m not a bad guy.

“People tried to bury my dream because of one mistake, but I asked God for forgiveness, so I’m carrying on with my career, dude.

“I’m starting over.”

Meanwhile, Boa Esporte president Rone Moraes da Costa was unmoved by threats after his decision to sign Bruno.

He said: “If this city doesn’t like it, I move us to another city. Bruno deserves this chance.”

His words echoed those of club owner Rafael Gois Silva Xavier who earlier this week claimed: “He was found guilty, he served his time and he was released by the courts.

“He deserves another opportunity.”

Bruno, now 32, was at one point one of the hottest prospects in South America – even being tipped to play for Brazil at the 2014 World Cup.

After leading Flamengo to top of the league, there were also rumours linking the No1 to Serie A giants AC Milan.

However, his glittering career came to an abrupt halt in 2013 when he was sentenced to 22 years in jail for his part in the gruesome plot.

Due to the leniency of the Brazilian legal system, Bruno was allowed to walk free in February having served just six years in total, following the 2010 incident.
