Man kills brother, mother slumps after

 

Double tragedy has struck Nnokwa community in Idemmili local government area of Anambra State when a man allegedly killed his brother, leading to the death of their mother.
Christian Nwokike, 38, was murdered allegedly by his younger brother during a scuffle over the ownership of a family building.
There were three brothers from the same mother but two were against the eldest allegedly in support of their mother, Mrs Nwokike. There were conflicting reports on what happened but two people are dead in the family following the rift.

THE Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has vowed to resist an alleged plot by the Independent National Electoral Commission in connivance with the All Progressives Congress to remove the State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mrs. Gesila Khan.

The state PDP specifically accused the state Governor, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, of planning to bribe INEC Chairman, Professor Attahiru Jega, to remove Khan and replace her with a card-carrying member of the APC.

Man Kills Student In Lagos Over Girlfriend


A 26-year-old man, Wisdom Okafor, has been killed after a scuffle with a car wash attendant, Monday Ekwekuba, in the Ojokoro area of Lagos State.

PUNCH Metro learnt that 38-year-old Ekwekuba, an indigene of Imo State, attacked the victim with a stick before chasing him into the path of a speeding vehicle after he saw him (Wisdom) in his girlfriend’s house.

Wisdom was reportedly crushed to death.

Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has described his administration as a government by the people, saying, ”Ekiti people, who are the owners of my mandate, will defend it against political usurpers whom they have rejected twice in the last nine months.”
In a statement by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, the governor also urged the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Mahmud Mohammed, to maintain his stand on not allowing the judiciary to be used to overturn the outcome of elections.
