Angel di Maria tells friend he ‘regrets Manchester United transfer’

Angel di Maria has rocked Manchester United by admitting he made a mistake in joining the club last summer.

The Argentine winger has struggled to adjust to the Premier League and his shock confession will add weight to the rumours he could be set to leave Old Trafford this summer.

Spanish journalist Manuel ‘Manolete’ Esteban claims that former Real Madrid star Di Maria, who has been heavily criticised for his abject form this campaign, has told his friends of his regret in leaving the Bernabeu.

‘Di Maria has confessed to someone at Real Madrid that he regrets joining Manchester United,’ Esteban told Spanish TV show La Goleada.

Long-term suitors Paris Saint-Germain are likely to test the waters with a bid at the end of the season, despite the player’s agent Jorge Mendes denying his client is restless at ‘one of the world’s best teams’.
