Ira Peterson, 79, of Alabama (United States) allegedly shot her nephew after she thought he stole $20 from her purse. The pair live together, so Peterson instinctively blamed her nephew for the missing money once she realized it was gone.
Police arrived to the woman's home in response to a shooting call, and found Peterson's unnamed nephew with a gunshot wound to his foot. She was arrested and charged with second-degree domestic violence charges, and was bonded out of jail the same day.
