Chelsea set to open talks with Barca over £20m Pique transfer

Chelsea are set to open talks with Barcelona over a £20million deal to sign centre back Gerard Pique, according to reports.

Pique, who has fallen down the pecking order at the Nou Camp, has been tipped to leave Barca in the new year, with Manchester United keen on his signature.

But according to the Daily Express, Chelsea have moved ahead in the race and they are planning to start negotiations with Barca over a £20million transfer.

Jose Mourinho is believed to be a big fan of Pique and despite his collection of quality centre backs, the Special One is keen to get the Spaniard signed up quickly.
